The Patient

It’s an interesting misfire. It’s a sitcom premise with funny performers that doesn’t think to write any jokes until like the penultimate episode, with way too much holocaust imagery for my taste. I feel like there should have been more twists. It just sort of happens basically how you might expect it to unfold, beyond the one interest development when the mother is revealed. There is suspense and frequently the dialogue scenes are bursting with subtext, so parts of it are clearly working. But it’s too boring for a serial killer plot.
