Like the first season, this took me nearly five months to get through.

Lots of fun stuff in this season. I got a little tired of the sort of implausible plot lines where non-Earth planets somehow developed Earth-like phenomenon like The United States and Rome. Like, seriously, there’s an episode that suggests that another planet independently came up with the American flag, the American constitution, and the American pledge of allegiance. It was so dumb and so corny, and this show is best when it’s holding brains and popcorn fun in even balance.

Spock and Kirk remain absolutely premium lead characters. I grow somewhat tired of McCoy and Scotty, although Scotty drinking the bad guys under the table was excellent. The remaining characters generally fade into the background, which is a little disappointing. Uhura and Sulu never really get much to do. Chekhov is new and kind of fun but also doesn’t get much to do. Nurse Chapel got a little bit more character development but not much.

The Ultimate Computer feels kind of like a less artistic take on 2001, but credit where it’s due for beating Kubrick to the punch.

Will definitely keep watching! Bring on season three, and then the movies.
