His Dark Materials

Unfortunately this season buckled under the scope, both emotional and thematic. Some of the performers are strong throughout (Keen, Kirby, McAvoy, Wilson) (Ruth Wilson that is, Amir is a bit of a drag). The ending should be a barrel of bricks poured on top of you and it’s just not. It’s not all Amir Wilson’s fault, it’s also the editing and score which just knock all the magic out of it.
